Mirny Automobile Roads Division (MARD) traces its history back to November 15, 1960. In 2008 Mirny Automobile Roads Division became ALROSA’s independent subdivision.
Mirny Automobile Roads Division comprises eight road sectors and eight automobile stations located on the territory stretching from Lensk town up to Udachny town and Yuryung-Khaya settlement in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and up to Ust-Kut town in Irkutsk region.
Mirny Automobile Roads Division is engaged in repairs and maintenance of the year-round automobile roads and ice roads with the total length of 4,561 km, including year-round roads–1,127 km, and ice roads–3,434 km. Mirny Automobile Roads Division has a range of the state-of-the-art automobile and road equipment and machinery to maintain, repair, construct and reconstruct automobile roads.
The division has its own asphalt plant to manufacture road concrete mix. As the sites are hundreds of kilometers away from the main base in Mirny, automobile and road equipment and machinery are equipped with the trunk radio and GLONASS systems.
In drawing up its long-term programs ALROSA’s Mirny Automobile Roads Division is focused on operation in two major directions. The first one is traditional, operation on ALROSA’s sites. The second one is related to the development of Vilyui automobile road and Anabar republican road. Along with the operations related to maintenance and repairs, Mirny Automobile Road Division also plans its participation in the tenders for the construction and reconstruction of Vilyui automobile road.
