June 30, 2021 – ALROSA’s Ecology center continues fish stocking in order to preserve biodiversity of Yakutia.
The company’s ecologists released 1.3 million of larval fish in Vilyui reservoir as part of the 2021 fish stocking season. ALROSA financed the release of over 300,000 of larval fish.
“In 2021, we plan to release over 2 million of larval fish and fry, including those of prime species. ALROSA allocated RUB 10 million on fish stocking program,” said the company’s Chief Ecologist Polina Anisimova.
This year’s first fish stocking took place in May, when ecologists released 842,000 of fry in Lena river, as well as in Timir-Kyunde and Diring Mara lakes.
