On 1 December, ALROSA signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), in an official ceremony in Antwerp.
The document was signed by Fyodor Andreev, ALROSA president, and Stephane Fischler, president of AWDC.
The Agreement aims to improve cooperation between AWDC and ALROSA over the next three years, with both parties contributing to the development of a competitive rough and polished diamond market in Russia, and working to promote Russian diamonds in the Belgian market. TALROSA and the AWDC will also work more closely and exchange expertise and information regarding the implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.
In addition, both parties will share information including market intelligence and opportunities, new technologies, and developments at industry events such as seminars and conferences. The Agreement also covers setting up diamond grading and sorting courses for Russian students at HRD Antwerp.
